March 4, 2017
GOOD TURN UPDATE: Due to an unforeseen circumstance, the Girl Scout patches will not be in the donation area on March 4. Good Turn Day will still be on March 4th and we will be accepting troop donations. We will have a list in the donation area for all troops to write down a mailing address and the number of patches needed. We will mail all the troops the patches after Good Turn Day. You can also text the address and number of patches to 504.421.0137. Thank you for understanding and working with Goodwill of Southeastern Louisiana.
You can also email your troop information and number of patches to firstname.lastname@example.org
Good Turn Day has become a community tradition between Goodwill Industries® and Girl Scouts Louisiana East.
HOW IT WORKS
Scouts do a Good Turn by collecting gently used items (such as clothing, books, shoes, purses) to bring to their local Goodwill and are honored with a “Good Turn” patch for participating. GOODWILL CANNOT ACCEPT TOYS OR STUFFED ANIMALS DUE TO NEW CONSUMER REGULATIONS. Your participation also helps make the general public aware of Goodwill’s mission and need for donations of quality gently used goods. Once items are received, they are processed and sold in Goodwill’s 21 retail stores to support its mission of helping people with disabilities and other employment disadvantages prepare for, find and retain work. Your donations also keep millions of reusable items out of local landfills, making your good turn also good for the environment.
