Goodwill Industries® of Southeastern Louisiana will open a new retail store and donation center in Luling, on Thursday, January 19, at 12897 U.S. Highway 90 and the corner of Coronado Drive. A ribbon cutting ceremony with parish officials and Goodwill staff will take place at 8:45 AM before the doors open at 9 AM.  The first 100 shoppers in line will receive a Goodwill giveaway.  Coffee and donuts will be provided, while supplies last, courtesy of Takeaway Donuts.

“We are pleased to bring a brand new store to the residents of St. Charles Parish,” said William Jessee, president of Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana. “Our staff is putting the final touches on the store in anticipation of a busy grand opening weekend.”

The Luling location is Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana’s 21st store and features a convenient drive up donation station and 10,000 square feet of high quality, low priced donated merchandise including books, household items, furniture, electronics, shoes, clothing, and accessories for the entire family.  Store hours are Monday – Saturday from 9 AM to 8 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 6 PM.  Donations of gently used clothing, accessories, household items, books, furniture, electronics, computers, and computer related equipment are also accepted during store hours.  Potential donors can also request home pickup service by calling 504-234-6324.

Although mostly known for its stores, Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana is a 501C3 nonprofit organization and one of a network of 165 agencies with a mission of providing job training, education, services and employment opportunities to people with barriers to employment.  All Goodwill agencies are independently governed by a local board of directors and provide programs and services tailored to the needs of the communities in which they operate. Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana provides a diverse range of services that St. Charles Parish residents are eligible for, including reentry programs for the formerly incarcerated and an independent living skills program for individuals aging out of foster care.
