Join Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana and the Louisiana Department of Corrections for an interactive and informative mental health panel that is open to the public with the goal of informing government agencies, providers, law enforcement, and case managers of gaps in behavioral health and justice systems. Our panel brings professionals across different areas of expertise together to connect and share experiences, insights and thoughts around neuroscience, mental health and wellness with justice involved individuals.
This panel will allow us to access relevant research information that directly leads to the best practices across the world. The panel consists of leading research professionals from the United States and Argentina, as well as findings from Colombia. We are utilizing technology to better inform us in the nature of deviant human behavior across generations in order to further understand best practices and decrease recidivism rates in our court system. Our current research focuses in the adult and geriatric populations and gives us a brief insight across development stages.
Our overall goal is to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and wellness, better understand formally incarcerated individuals and provide mental health resources to address reintegration practices and reduce recidivism.
