Marilyn Chapman, Ph.D., has been named Vice President of Human Resources of Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana, Inc. In her new role, Chapman will lead the organization’s efforts to recruit and retain top talent, oversee employee relations and advise on regulatory compliance matters. Chapman brings more than 20 years of for-profit and non-profit experience to Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana and specializes in human capital, human resource operations, benefits, talent acquisition and organizational development issues. She most recently served as Director of Human Resources for Buffalo Medical Group in New York. Prior to that, she was the Director Human Resources and Acting CEO for Sheehan Health Network. Chapman earned her Ph.D. from Niagara University in New York and a Masters of Art from State University of New York. She also holds SPHR (Senior Professional Human Resources) and CERS (Certified Employee Relations Specialist) credentials.
Goodwill is a 501C3 non-profit organization dedicated to offering opportunities to people with disabilities and other employment disadvantages to improve their economic self-sufficiency through training, education, support services and employment. Last year alone, Goodwill served 2,938 individuals with disabilities and other employment barriers and placed 306 in jobs.
