Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana sends its condolences to the family of Mr. Jerry Romig, who passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 23. He was 86. Widely known and respected as the Voice of the Saints for 44 years, Mr. Romig actively supported many community causes, including Goodwill Industries, where he served as past president of the board of directors from 1967-1968. “His years of dedicated service left Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana with a legacy of success. He was beloved by all and we are fortunate to have had his leadership in our agency’s formative years,” said William L. Jessee, president of Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 26 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 3310 Jefferson Highway. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Goodwill Industries, Brother Martin High School or St. Mary’s Dominican High School.
