Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana Set to Open

4th Baton Rouge Store & Donation Center,  Thurs, Sept. 14

 

Goodwill Industries® of Southeastern Louisiana will open a new retail store and donation center in Baton Rouge, on Thursday, September 14, at 2435 O’Neal Lane. A ribbon cutting ceremony with will take place at 8:45 AM before the doors open at 9 AM.  The first 100 shoppers in line will receive a Goodwill giveaway. Refreshments will be provided, while supplies last.

“We are excited to open our 4th Goodwill store and donation center in Baton Rouge,” said William Jessee, president of Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana. “Our staff is putting the final touches on the store in anticipation of a busy grand opening weekend.”

The O’Neal location is Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana’s 22nd store and features a convenient drive up donation station and thousands of high quality, low priced donated merchandise including books, household items, furniture, electronics, shoes, clothing, and accessories for the entire family.  Store hours are Monday – Saturday from 9 AM to 8 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 6 PM.  Donations of gently used clothing, accessories, household items, books, furniture, electronics, computers, and computer related equipment are also accepted during store hours.  Potential donors can also request home pickup service by calling 504-234-6324.

Although mostly known for its stores, Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana is a 501(C) 3 nonprofit organization and one of a network of 162 agencies with a mission of providing job training, education, services and employment opportunities to people with barriers to employment.  All Goodwill agencies are independently governed by a local board of directors and provide programs and services tailored to the needs of the communities in which they operate.
