(New Orleans, LA)— Tim Salvato has joined the team of Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana as vice president of retail operations. Salvato replaces Robert Reese, who retired in late September after 10 years of service to the organization. In his new role, Salvato oversees the operations and growth of Goodwill’s retail operations division, which presently includes 20 stores in a 23 parish territory.
Salvato brings more than 20 years of multi-unit retail leadership to Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana. Throughout his career, he has opened more than 25 new retail stores with four different organizations. Salvato previously served as senior vice president of retail operations for Goodwill Columbus in Ohio for four years. At Goodwill Columbus, Salvato increased donated goods revenue from 18 percent to 32 percent of total organization revenue and built a purchased goods business, which resulted in an additional $600,000 in revenue in two years.
Prior to that, Salvato was the retail district manager for Goodwill Industries of Central Texas, where he was responsible for the leadership of 13 retail stores in a 15 county area. Prior to his Goodwill career, Salvato was a retail district manager for Dollar General Corporation and Eckerd Drug Corporation.
Salvato is a Texas native who received his Bachelor of Business Administration—Personnel and Human Resource Management, from Texas A & M University—Commerce.
“We are pleased to welcome Tim to our leadership team. With his successful track record managing multi-unit operations and his dedication to Goodwill’s mission, we are confident in his ability to lead our donated goods retail operations during this time of incredible change in the retail industry,” said William Jessee, president of Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana.
